XLR8 Balls

The XLR8 balls were designed with a specific intent: How do we instruct baseball players to hit different speeds of pitches? Answer: Produce a ball that flies at different speeds! Obviously, one ball could not accomplish this without some manipulation by the “pitcher”. Not anymore.

One XLR8 ball is slightly heavier and constructed of a different density of foam than the other. The differing weights and densities create different flight characteristics when thrown with the same arm speed. The heavier ball flies straighter and faster than the lighter ball. Presto! Instant off-speed pitch training without any manipulation from the “pitcher”. Now Mom, Dad, your sister or anyone else can throw great batting practice without any effort or knowledge about baseball. Simply throw the XLR8 balls and they do the rest.

Because of the difficulty in hitting off-speed pitches we designed a Youth version of differing colors. The “fastball” is white and the “off-speed” pitch is yellow. This assists the younger players in recognizing the off-speed pitch. The optic yellow color also makes it easier for the younger player to “track” the ball to the hitting area.

The soft foam construction allows a "pitcher" to stand or kneel somewhat close to the batter without fear of being struck by the practice baseballs. This allows for more accurate practice pitches. Additionally, these soft foam balls do not break as do the commonly used plastic golf balls.

The Grobat

The GROBAT is a small-diameter bat featuring a movable Sweetspot Simulator pad that tells the batter that he (or she) is using the correct area on the bat, the sweetspot. Corkball

Corkball has been a favorite game in St. Louis since the early 1900's.  It has many of the features of baseball, yet can be played in a very small area.  The action is centered around the pitcher, the catcher and the batter and requires no exhausting action, since there is no base running.  There is no age limit for players, and teams can play in open fields or confined areas, or "cages."

These condensed rules describe the game: Standing 55 ft. away from the plate, the pitcher tries to pitch the ball past the batter.  If the batter hits the ball past the 6 ft. foul line, he scores a hit.  Four hits scores a run, and the team scoring the most runs in five innings is the winner.
